The status of AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) is a certification granted by customs to particularly reliable companies in the international supply chain. AEO-certified firms benefit from fewer customs checks, simplified procedures and faster clearance. A distinction is made between AEO-C (customs simplifications) and AEO-S (security). Requirements include a clean customs and tax record, solvency and proven security standards.
