ATLAS (Automated Tariff and Local Customs Clearance System) is the IT system of the German customs administration for the largely paperless, electronic processing of imports, exports and transit. Export declarations, import clearance and transit procedures (T1) all run through ATLAS. Anyone declaring in their own name needs an EORI number and an ATLAS connection; alternatively a service provider such as SATS handles the declaration.
