Was bedeutet der Begriff "Export Accompanying Document (EAD)"?

The Export Accompanying Document (EAD) physically accompanies exports out of the EU as far as the customs office of exit. It is generated after the electronic export declaration in the ATLAS system and bears a Movement Reference Number (MRN). At the EU external border the exit is confirmed; the exporter receives the exit note as proof for the VAT exemption of the export.
