A reefer container (refrigerated container) is a sea-freight container with its own refrigeration unit for temperature-controlled cargo such as food, pharmaceuticals or chemicals. The temperature is adjustable (deep-freeze to above zero); the container needs a power supply on board and at the terminal. Common in 20- and 40-foot versions, often as High Cube.
