« Zurück zum IndexThe telex release is the electronic release of an ocean-freight shipment: the shipper surrenders the original bill of lading at the port of loading, whereupon the port of destination releases the goods to the consignee without presentation of an original. This saves time and courier costs for original documents but requires trust between the parties. An alternative is the sea waybill.
