Taiwan: your freight forwarder for imports & exports
Taiwan is an important trading partner for Germany and the EU in the Asia-Pacific region. It is a major production location for semiconductors and electronics, supplying chips, IT components and precision parts to Europe. Germany supplies products including machinery, high-tech production equipment, vehicles and automotive parts. As a freight forwarder, we coordinate your imports and exports on the Taiwan route according to the agreed shipment requirements.
Transport options for Taiwan
- Sea freight: A major gateway is the Port of Kaohsiung; Keelung, Taichung and Taipei are other possible gateways, depending on the service and destination. The existing overview gives an indicative sea freight transit of around four to five weeks from Northern European ports such as Hamburg or Rotterdam. Current sailings, transshipment and operating conditions determine the actual schedule.
- Air freight: For urgent or high-value shipments, including electronics and semiconductors, we assess air freight through Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), an important Asian cargo hub.
- Multimodal arrangements: Where suitable, we combine sea and air stages and coordinate road collection and final delivery through to the agreed address.
Customs & documents
The EU and Taiwan do not have a free trade agreement providing a bilateral general tariff preference. Duties and any product-specific treatment must therefore be checked against the actual origin, classification and applicable tariff. For customs clearance the commercial invoice, packing list, origin information and any product-specific permits must be prepared carefully. We coordinate import and export customs handling and help identify the relevant classification, duties and documentation.
From individual containers to project cargo, SATS brings together sea freight, air freight and customs coordination for the Taiwan route, with personal support and clear documentation.
