TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) is the standard unit for container capacity and corresponds to one 20-foot standard container. FEU (Forty-foot Equivalent Unit) denotes a 40-foot container and equals two TEU. The unit makes different container sizes comparable – for ship capacity, port throughput and freight statistics.
